My colleague stopped by today in the office with baby Sterling just before noon. Naturally, the office staff stole moments to greet her and the baby, who was serenely asleep in the pram. We caught up with Corey with news and updates as we watched Sterling in transfixed awe (babies have that effect). He is very cute with chipmunk-like, puffy cheeks!
He later stirred and squirmed until mom released him from the restraints and held him upright, resting on Corey's left shoulder. He would flutter his eyes, move his baby mouth in a yawn or suspended "O" shape, and thrilled some of us when he expressed a fleetingly adorable baby smile! Awwww....
He looked very comfortable, safe, and absolutely relaxed in Corey's arms as she gently rocked and bounced him back to sleep.
I found it absolutely exciting as well to hear Corey relate her Mommy experiences so far and the discoveries of every day wonder and miracles that she sees in her son.
He is such a darling as I kissed his soft baby head before saying goodbye to him and his mom.
Babies are so heartwarmingly adorable!!! Undoubtedly so despite those "baby for sale, cheap!" sentiments that haunt a parent every now and then, I suppose.

So ... when are you gonna have one of your own? You'd be a great Mom!
ReplyDeleteThat's sweet. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhen? I don't know. I require a husband to father a child. Hard to think that far when I don't even have a date. LOL.
Dates don't necessarily fall on your lap! Join groups of any sort! Or match.com! Rest your books and go out there!
ReplyDeleteDone those. Interesting for a while but exhaustingly frustrating afterwards. Hard to sustain a level of motivation. Maybe I'm just recovering for now before trying again. Maybe.
ReplyDeleteHow about you and I try again =). I wonder if Dr-ofw endorses match.com ;-). Is that better than e-harmony? What else is out there...I wonder...
