Desert Surprise

A colleague gushed about why he likes the desert, when most people will dismiss it because of its arid and seemingly lifeless, desolate, and oppressive conditions. Yet, I can appreciate the desert's mysteries and magnetism that cloak and shield nature's suprises.

Perhaps the desert may just be a passing object of curiosity or something that can eventually grow on somebody in seasonal cycles, if not indefinitely. Regardless, it is a timeless part of our human and geologic history.
