A friend hangs a Christmas stocking on his office door. He's very much into the Christmas spirit and the stocking is an addition to an already festive decor in his office: a fiber optic 32" lit Christmas tree, a snow globe with penguins that winds to the tune of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," a tiny stuffed bear of our campus mascot with a blue scarf, a decorated Christmas tree with a golden background as his computer's wallpaper and Christmas music playing from his MP3 collection. I think if he has a fireplace in his office and more Christmas lights as well as sweet treats, it would further display the ambiance of the Holiday spirit. He said that he always enjoys Christmas and he feels that it started when he was growing up.
Anyway, I found something to stuff his Christmas stocking with. He was anxious what it was so I eventually let him take it out. He felt it first and thought it was a DVD. Well, close but no. It was a music CD from the movie, "(500) Days of Summer," a film which we both enjoyed. I bought it three months ago while I was visiting Santa Barbara. I have listened to it and enjoyed specific songs more than others, but I really prefer and look forward to the movie's DVD release instead.
He appreciated the CD and was unperturbed that it was unsealed and unwrapped. He then thought that the DVD would be a good Christmas gift to his sister since it will be released just shortly before Christmas day.
After my haircut tonight, I did some errands at the nearby CVS drugstore. There, I found two practical items to add to his stocking. I never really stuffed Christmas stockings before and it's quite fun. Besides, it gives me an excuse to warm up my cold hands against its silken soft, furry, fuzzy texture. I told my friend that it reminded me of a former roommate's pet cat's fur!

Ahhhh, I should add "500 Days of Summer" to my list of movies to watch. Maybe, I can watch it while I'm on vacation =)
