I have a few partially started books. Mostly, I have finished reading the introduction either by the author itself or by a scholar specializing in the author's body of work. I know some people who skip introductions and go straight to the story. For me, it's habit to start from the very beginning, and I also try not to overlook the author's list of acknowledgment or dedication in the completion of their book.
I look forward to starting the last page I bookmarked and turning the pages ... forward to know what's next, backward to remember details that I may have missed, or just playfully flipping through to know how far I have gone reading and how much more I have left.
I need new bookshelves for my growing book collection. With that comes moments of browsing titles, caressing book spines and flipping the pages with memories of stories read, a return to unfinished narratives and the anticipation of new ones.
