Edible Wrap

When I did my grocery shopping last weekend, I bought a cooked roasted chicken. Later, I shredded it which filled one of my plastic storage containers, a space-saver in my refrigerator.

For a meal, I spooned some of the shredded chicken (which I first warmed for a minute in the microwave oven) on a bed of lettuce, centered on a tortilla wrap. I poured some ranch dressing on the chicken and sprinkled it with black pepper. I skipped the tomatoes or onions since I'm saving those for other dishes that I plan to cook. I then folded the tortilla to give myself a very filling and flavorful warm chicken lettuce wrap!

I have more chicken and lettuce and dressing left for subseqent consumption that beat any fast food or restaurant meal out there, in my opinion. I can be creative in preparing it for future iterations, go for seconds if I have to, and enjoy it in the comfort of home while watching baseball or favorite TV show.

For dessert, after letting a wrap warm up on both sides in a hot skillet, I spread nutella on it then folded it in half (you can do more folds and nutella spread, depending on the size of your wrap). I had a nutella taco! It was great with hot tea.

I'm off to the kitchen now....

  2. I had the nutella taco as dessert, separate from the chicken wrap. Did you think I mixed it with the chicken?? Not... :)
