Batman Begins

I borrowed the "Batman Begins"(2005) DVD from a friend. He's a Batman fan. He said that he has a shirt with the Batman logo across the chest. I haven't seen him in it. But he said that he wore it last Halloween when he accompanied his girlfriend's son while going through a trick-or-treat neighborhood walk.

The movie was very compelling. It had my attention for the full two-plus hours. The first twenty minutes moved me to tears. Batman's flight scenes across Gotham City made me feel like I was flying, too! And the way he moved and snuck up like a ninja could truly be haunting and nightmarish. I haven't seen this movie on the big screen. It must have been sweepingly amazing!

The soundtrack greatly complimented the movie's mood and action. The entire viewing experience was epic and operatic for me, and Christian Bale's portrayal as Bruce Wayne/Batman effectively manifested his duality as a human and a beast, moved by primal emotions of fear and anger...towards an eternal search for justice.

BB is a highly watchable movie regardless of its length, and thanks to my friend, I was able to see it from beginning to end, including the amazing behind-the-scenes interviews and features. He owns "Dark Knight" so that is next in my DVD viewing queue and the first time that I will see it, having missed its blockbuster draw last summer.
