Simple Pleasures

I had a pedicure today after work. It took me a while to choose the color of red nail polish that I wanted but when it was applied, I was and am very pleased. I am excited to wear sandals as the spring weather unfolds.

Unlike some women I hear about who need getting their nails (hands and feet) done every two weeks or so at a salon, I don't do it often in between my own self-grooming. So when I do decide to get one, it is really a treat. The neighborhood salon I go to is also just about a block or so away from my apartment so I enjoy the convenience and familiarity.

Additionally, I asked for a five-minute shoulder massage. It was very nice and relaxing. I think beyond the massage's physiological effects, what I appreciated was the human touch and how I really felt taken care of in making sure that I was comfortable and satisfied.

I walked home with a grateful smile.

  1. I do my own pedicure ... just because I'm a perfectionist with the way I want it done. I found a salon in the Philippines who do it well but not here! Pampering yourself is great every once in a while.
