In Exactly Six Months

I use my cell phone's alarm clock feature to wake me up on weekday mornings. Today, after muting the sound and as soon as my eyes adjusted to the phone screen, I saw the date: 5/15/09. I like the number 5 and its combination with other numbers; I just do.

After the date has registered in my freshly-awakened brain, my first thought was, "six months away..."

What is there in another half a year?

My birthday.
