My office unit had a holiday luncheon today. It was nice to be socializing with each other outside the confines of our offices and to see familiar faces in one setting, while we got reacquainted. Afterwards, we had our white elephant gift exchange. As in the past, it was an amusing and at times, blushful event, but (almost) everyone seemed to be satisfied with what they picked or traded with someone else. I wouldn't have known what to do with mine when I picked the last gift bag on the table until a colleague offered to exchange hers, which I accepted. It worked out well since I heard that what she traded with me will add to her collection, and what I got from her will be something that I'll be able to use for a period of time.
And now with another day of gray skies and rain, I'm keeping cozy here in my office listening to traditional Christmas music while catching up on paperwork.
