On Monday Night Football (MNF) tonight, the New Orleans Saints (35) defeated the Atlanta Falcons (27). They are now 7-0 in the season.
I didn't see the entire game; I turned on my TV on ESPN and saw that the game was still on and in the last three minutes of the fourth quarter.
What I remember was the amazing final touchdown in the waning seconds of the game. I don't recall who made it (I was not that focused) but what I saw was a seemingly weightless acrobatic twirl and the springlike bounce of the player who had broken the plane to give the Saints its final score.
Amazing!
Later on, in the customary post-game press conference, when the players have showered and cleaned up, I saw Drew Brees, the Saints' quarterback at the podium.
I knew he was talking and addressing questions but it was all white noise to me. What struck me was Brees' green eyes, which I never really noticed before. He was also wearing an olive-colored jacket that accentuated his broad shoulders. His overall expression was of a restrained, or perhaps a calm pride and satisfaction for the win and his team's performance.
Beyond all that, I just remember those green, kind eyes, which I can imagine to be competitively focused and fierce whenever he's on the field.
Drew has drawn me to those features, as I get more intrigued about him as a player (some analysts say that he's one of the most underrated players) and as a person.
