Whenever I fly on the plane, I choose the window seat. I like looking out for the view and I have seen varying landscapes in a course of a flight.
It is amazing to realize that I am at least at 37,000 feet above ground when flying. I find it most whimsical as the plane passes through huge puffy clouds, where in my imagination, it would feel like an invitation for a playful bed-bounce, pillow fight, beach ball toss or a cotton candy splurge.
I think it is harder to conjure cloud shapes and figures at that elevation because of the clouds' volume in seemingly close proximity. Still, when I think or imagine hard enough, I see images in my mind's eye.
Sometimes, there are delightful surprises as well. I remember seeing a rainbow through some clouds just shortly before my descent to the Seattle airport last September. I also remember a few times when I saw the sun peeking through, as well as the occasional glorious sunset colors (depending on the time of my flight).
The last time I saw a carpet of puffy clouds during a flight back to Los Angeles, I thought of two things: whipped cream and meringue. :-)

I am so jelly that you feel this way when flying. I abhor it and usually spend he greater part of the flight trying to fight off nausea.
ReplyDeleteI wonder about "clouds" near LA though...
