The first three photos were taken from my camera phone and the last two are stock web images.

Me: "Can you please tell me where the Palace is?" (End of the bus line stop)
Bus driver: "Come here, I'll show you." (Points his finger to his left).
Me: "Whoa! It's right there! It's big!"
And from a block away, I could see the dome of the Palace of Fine Arts with the landmark becoming bigger than I imagined as I walked towards it.
The view welcomed me with the instinctive tug to get my camera phone and take a photo, as I did throughout the couple of hours or so lingering in the vicinity ... walking the concourse, periphery, lagoon area, and stepping inside the dome to look up at the intricate architecture that simply held me in speechless amazement.
I started to wonder if the residents in the surrounding high end houses in that Marina District do not tire of looking at the Palace from their windows, or if they constantly feel an endless appreciation for the presence of such landmark and history in their midst.
The Palace of Fine Arts has captured my imagination and it felt alive against the varying angles of sunlight on a day of intermittent spring showers.
I'll remember to always stop by for a visit and a moment whenever I get the chance to return.
